Brennan joins Russell from Rainier Investment Management, Inc., where he has spent the past six years and most recently as President and CEO. Prior to this, he spent 20 years in various senior management positions at Russell, including most recently as managing director of Individual Investor Services. In this role, he had oversight for Russell’s global operations, including responsibility for the firm’s global third-party funds distribution business and individual investor services in the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South Africa, Canada and Australia. A native of Canada, Brennan also previously managed the firm’s Toronto and London offices and, notably, launched the firm’s first multi-manager investment funds outside the United States.

Johan Cras, who has worked at Russell for the past 15 years and has, since 2008, served as Chief Executive of Russell’s EMEA businesses headquartered in London, has decided to be closer to home to allow more time with his family in the Netherlands. As such, he will step away from his Chief Executive duties. Russell is looking forward to welcoming him back as a consultant, to continue serving Russell’s clients and helping to build Russell’s business in Northern Europe.

Russell’s EMEA business is entering the execution phase of an ambitious growth strategy set for the region and, in support of the advancing goals of the business, a number of other senior appointments are expected to be announced in the near future.

Andrew Doman, president and CEO of Russell Investments, commented: “I’m very pleased that we are welcoming Len back to Russell. He is both a seasoned leader with vast experience in the financial services industry, and holds a deep history and knowledge about Russell. His influence and expertise will be crucial as the EMEA businesses enter an exciting and ambitious phase of growth.”

Len Brennan statement: “I have a deep affection and respect for Russell as an organization, and I’m excited about rejoining the firm. I hope to utilize my experience and skill set to contribute to the evolution and continued growth of Russell and to ensure that the phenomenal success and reputation of the firm continues for the next 75 years.”
