Nomura appoints Harry Ng to head Asia ex-Japan trust business

Nomura, Asia’s global investment bank, today appointed Mr. Harry Ng as Head of Nomura Trust Company (Singapore) Ltd. (NTS) and Head of Wealth Planning Strategy & Solutions, Asia ex-Japan.

He will be based in Singapore and reports to Mr. Nobuhiro Sano, Head of Wealth Management, Asia ex-Japan. In his new role, Mr. Ng will be responsible for managing NTS’ client relationships and estate administration activities, as well as leading the trustee services business.

The addition of Harry to our team further demonstrates the firm’s commitment to our long-term growth strategy in wealth management,” said Mr. Sano. “Harry is recognized for his extensive experience in the wealth planning space and has a stellar reputation with both clients and peers. He will be an invaluable asset to us as we continue to grow in Asia.”

Mr. Ng joins from Julius Baer in Singapore where he was North Asia Head of Wealth Planning from January 2014. He previously worked at Merrill Lynch’s wealth management unit in Singapore, serving as Asia-Pacific Wealth Planning Team Head just prior to the division’s acquisition by Julius Baer. He started his career with Merrill Lynch in California and has also worked as a relationship manager at Citibank Singapore.

He holds a Master’s degree in finance from the University of California and a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Oregon.
