Nomura appoints Kaan Basaran as Head of Origination and Sales, Turkey

Nomura, Asia’s global investment bank, announces today that it has hired Kaan Basaran as Head of Origination and Sales, Turkey.

Based in London, he reports to Konstantinos Kontominas, Head of Local EM Sales EMEA. “Kaan brings more than 20 years of experience to the position and is an important addition to Nomura’s European business,” said Kontominas.

Raffaele Ricci, Head of Fixed Income Sales, EMEA added, “Turkey is a strategically important market for our EMEA fixed income business and the excellent relationships that Kaan holds with clients across Turkey will prove a great differentiator for Nomura in the local market.” In his role, Kaan will be responsible for all product origination in Turkey across Nomura’s DCM, ECM, Corporate Finance and Fixed Income businesses.

Prior to joining Nomura, Kaan spent more than three years with UniCredit Menkul Degerler as CEO. Before joining UniCredit, he was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Credit Suisse in Turkey. Kaan also has more than 15 years experience working in London financial markets focusing on Emerging Markets.
