Aviva Investors announced the appointment of Corrine Ng as Real Estate Investment Trust (REITs) Analyst for North America. Based in New York, Corrine will be responsible for analysing the apartment, hotel and self storage sectors of the US and Canadian REIT market.

She will report to Sherry Rexroad, Senior Portfolio Manager, REITs, North America and work closely with the rest of the Global REIT team in London, Singapore and Australia.

Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Corrine worked at Aims Snowden Global Property Securities where she was responsible for trading, investing and researching North American and European real estate companies. Corrine has also held similar roles at Goldman Sachs and Challenger.

Sherry Rexroad commented: “Corrine has over 11 years experience as a REIT market analyst and brings an understanding of the asset class at both a geographic and sector level

“Corrine’s appointment deepens Aviva Investors truly global world class REIT offering, with on the ground investment management expertise in our key regions of Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. By having locally-based portfolio managers and analysts in each of these regions we are able to offer our clients access to the best real estate opportunities available.

“As the real estate market recovers from the volatility experienced during the credit crisis, we are seeing a growing demand from clients for REITs. By investing in this asset class, investors can gain a more liquid exposure to prime real estate and take advantage of the high yield potential.”

Headed by Paul van de Vaart, the Aviva Investors Global REIT team comprises 11 investment professionals based in the UK, Singapore, the US and Australia. The team manages approximately USD 915 million for diverse mandates including pooled and segregated portfolios, global and regional strategies.
