Head of Strategy for Market Infrastructures - Société Générale Securities Services
Eric de Nexon began his career in 1986 as Vice-President of Banque Demachy et Associés. In 1987, he was named Senior Consultant for finance and markets within Ernst and Young before joining the Société Générale group as Head of Back-Offices and Relit Project Manager at Delahaye Ripault, an investment services subsidiary. In 1994, he moved to Parel, a clearing subsidiary of SGSS, where he held several functions including Head of Back-Offices, Head of Business and IT Development and Managing Director. In 2003, he was appointed Head of International Clearing and Custody Network of SGSS before becoming Managing Director of the global asset clearing project.
Eric de Nexon is a member of many committees dedicated to financial markets both in France and abroad as the Expert Group for Market Infrastructures recently created by the European Commission, the T2S Advisory Group, the Board of AFTI and the Market Advisory Committee of Euroclear France.
It is well documented that over the past two years the European and US Authorties have made numerous efforts to strengthen the regulatory and supervisory framework that apply to financial activities.
2009 was a year of intense reflection on the functioning of the financial sector. There followed an intense regulatory activity in 2010, unfortunately with few formal adoptions of regulations. 2011 marked the surge of the will to succeed with provisional schedules. Where do (...)
